Product: In-Feed Selector
Product Innovation: In-Feed Selector
Role: Lead product design
Key Result: Crafted an improved in-feed product selector ad unit through iterative design processes. Testing results showed 23% uplift in engagement rates vs. standard swipe carousel units.

Solve for this
Within an in-feed environment, users are defaulting to an up/down scroll movement to navigate the article page. Introducing a different directional movement in left/right scroll, would run perpendicular (no pun intended) to what users would be used to.
Through different iterations, we settling on a much simpler user interaction of “tap” to navigate between different products.

Voila
I ensured all selectable options were in frame at all times and easily accessible by a single tap. Users would navigate to a new “page” when selected while keeping the ad experience contained within the ad unit. Interaction details such as a quick “tapped” state on each selected circle right before it transitions guided an intuitive user flow.
Our team ran A/B tests with campaign managers on a test budget to understand efficacy of the change in interaction and found a 23% uplift in engagement rate vs. existing carousel unit.
